All Have Sinned
Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
This verse brings out how helpless and lost we are in our natural condition. We could never do enough good things to earn heaven. That is because God is all pure, perfect, holy and totally just. For that reason, He must judge sin. Even a so called “little sin” would keep us out of fellowship with God, and out of heaven.
God provided the solution for our lost condition, when He Himself, as God the Son, took on flesh and dwelt here among us. He came here to willingly go to the cross and die for our sins. His Blood was shed to pay the penalty for all of our sins – past, present and in the future. After we accept this greatest Gift ever given, when God the Father looks at us, He sees the Blood and says…”not guilty.”
When we become covered by the Blood, we are adopted into God’s family. God the Father becomes our Father, with Jesus becoming our Elder Brother. God the Holy Spirit then indwells us to comfort us, teach us and empower us to live a life of faith.
When we then walk faithfully with our Lord one day at a time, we will live a life of contentment, joy, peace and strength. After this life, we move on into our eternal life to come, with even more blessings. There will be no more heartache, no more tears, and no more pain. We will live forever with Him. For a Christian, the best is always yet to be! Thanks to Jesus Christ our Saviour and our Lord!
